The cost of Invisalign treatment in Singapore may range from $4360 – $9265. The main factors affecting the price for each patient are the complexity of teeth condition and the clinic’s Invisalign provider tier.

Other factors that may affect the overall price are pre-treatment procedures (if required), mid-treatment and aftercare expenses. This accounts for the huge price range.

Some clinics such as i.Dental also offer packages for students and NSFs, making treatment more affordable. Thus, before committing to a clinic, make sure to check about their Invisalign package and what it includes.

A consultation with your dentist is the best way to get an accurate estimate of the cost. You’ll get a comprehensive understanding of the cost, payment options and whether you’re eligible for insurance coverage.

The cost of Invisalign treatment at i.Dental ranges from $4,360 to $9,265. There are different types of Invisalign treatment plans available — Anterior, Lite, Moderate and Comprehensive. The type of plan that’s allocated to each patient will depend on the complexity of their malocclusion.

If you have a complex teeth misalignment, more aligner sets will be needed to achieve the desired outcome. This requires a more comprehensive and longer treatment, which means the cost of Invisalign treatment will be higher.

On the flipside, if you only require minor teeth movements, you may be suitable for the Anterior or Lite plan which is more affordable. Consult a dentist to understand which plan is more suitable for you!

Dental insurance coverage for Invisalign is dependent on the insurance plan that you have. However, most of the time, such coverage comes as an additional add-on since they are aesthetic procedures. Consult with your insurance provider to check whether Invisalign treatment is covered under your policy.

Invisalign is considered aesthetic treatments and are not eligible for dental subsidies such as the CHAS scheme, Merdeka Generation Subsidy and Pioneer Generation subsidy.

Medisave is not an option to cover the cost of your treatment as well. MediSave in Singapore is only claimable for dental treatments that involve surgery due to medical reasons. As Invisalign is non-surgical and is considered as an aesthetic dental treatment, MediSave is not claimable.

Invisalign Provider Tier

Infographic - Invisalign provider tier levels and what they mean

Clinics with a higher Invisalign provider tier indicates that they’ve attended to more cases before. This translates to having more experience, which may lead to more expensive treatment as Invisalign is a doctor-directed treatment.

What is a doctor-directed treatment?
Invisalign is a clear aligner system that requires a dentist to closely monitor and track your progress from start to finish. Ultimately, your treatment journey and outcome will be heavily determined by your dentist’s prescription. Thus, with more experience, the dentist will be able to provide a proper diagnosis and personalised treatment plan to achieve your desired outcome effectively.

Number of Refinement Adjustments Required

It’s quite common for refinement adjustments to be done during the treatment if your teeth aren’t following the plan. In such cases, more aligner sets may be required and attachments may be replaced.

These may add on to the cost of the treatment, depending on what your Invisalign package includes. During the consultation stage, it’s a good idea to check with the clinic about this, so you can be prepared for any possible additional costs.

Pre-treatment and Aftercare Expenses

Other factors that will affect the cost of Invisalign treatment are

  • Pre-treatment procedures: if you need any dental procedures before Invisalign treatment can commence e.g. tooth extraction, scaling and polishing
  • Aftercare: cost of retainers

These will add on to the treatment cost if they aren’t included in the package.

Aside from Invisalign, there are a number of other clear aligner brands which can be categorised into:

  • In-clinic
  • Direct-to-consumer (DTC)

In-clinic aligner brands are conducted and supervised by dentists in person to provide a personal, face-to-face experience. DTC brands, on the other hand, work with dentists to administer and monitor patient’s progress remotely via teledentistry.

That’s why DTC brands tend to be more affordable. However, they’re more suitable for mild to moderate cases.

Another more affordable alternative is braces. There are 4 types of braces which you can choose based on your preferences and budget.

Invisalign is backed by data from approximately 15.1 million people including over 4.1 million teens globally. Furthermore, Align Technology, the creators of Invisalign, are consistently conducting research and development aimed at enhancing their technology and product offerings.

They hold the distinction of being the pioneers in introducing clear aligner treatment as a replacement for traditional braces in orthodontic care – a first in the world.

With 4 research and development centres globally, Align Technology demonstrates its commitment to innovation. Their research and development expenditure for the 12 months ending June 30, 2023, totaled $0.336 billion. As of 2022, Invisalign has been issued 1,1571 patents, which proves its credibility in the market.

Technology used

  • iTero Element® scanner: captures an accurate 3D image of your teeth
  • ClinCheck® software: used by dentists to customise treatment plan
  • Smile Architect: to plan for teeth restoration

The Invisalign® System straightens teeth using custom-made aligners, powered by exclusive virtual modelling software, efficient manufacturing, and patented materials. This method effectively treats a wide range of cases, from simple to complex, and also manages post-treatment retention needs.

Feature of Invisalign aligners

  • SmartTrack™ material: applies gentle, consistent force comfortably
  • SmartForce®: tooth-coloured attachments to enable complex teeth movements
  • SmartStage™ technology: optimises tooth movement sequence

These enhancements encompass improved correction of deep bites, activation of SmartForce aligners for anterior intrusion, enhanced levelling of the curve of Spee, automated placement of precise lower intrusion bite ramps, increased predictability for cases involving moderate to severe crowding and crossbite, utilisation of SmartForce optimised attachments and aligner activation for posterior arch expansion, and a decreased likelihood of experiencing posterior open bite (POB).

There are no subsidies for Invisalign treatment as it’s considered as a cosmetic treatment.

This depends on your preferred clinic. Most clinics would have instalment plans in place to make treatment more affordable.

For example, at i.Dental, this is the payment breakdown for Invisalign treatment:

  • Consultation with diagnostic records: $239.80
  • 1st downpayment upon approval of treatment plan: $872
  • 2nd downpayment upon issuing 1st set of aligners: $1,635
  • Monthly instalment: $300 – $400

Student and NSF plans are also available.

Simpler cases requiring fewer aligners or shorter treatment duration such as Invisalign Anterior ranges from $3531.40 to $$3,632.32. However, the cost can still vary based on your individual case and the expertise of your dentist. Consult our dentist to get a precise quote.

In many cases, Invisalign might be more expensive than traditional braces. At i.Dental, the cost of Invisalign ranges from $4360 – $9265 while braces cost anywhere between $4,033 – $6,758.

The exact cost of either treatment can only be determined by a thorough examination and consultation with your dentist.
