The cost of Invisalign treatment in Singapore may range from $4,200 – $9,000. The main factors affecting the price for each patient are the complexity of teeth condition and the clinic’s Invisalign provider tier.

Other factors that may affect the overall price are pre-treatment procedures (if required), mid-treatment and aftercare expenses. This accounts for the huge price range.

Thus, before committing to a clinic, make sure to check about their Invisalign package and what it includes. This will give you a better idea of the overall costs involved to achieve your dream smile!

Consultations for Invisalign treatment consists of 2 parts:

Consultation with dentist

This is when your dentist takes a look at your teeth condition, understands your concerns, and what you wish to achieve after the treatment.

After the chat, if you don’t wish to proceed with the treatment, the consultation itself will cost $20 – $70 on average.

X-rays and scans

If you wish to proceed with the treatment, the clinic will do X-rays, iTero scans and take intraoral photos for you.

This will cost approximately $200+ (inclusive of the consultation fee).

These prices may vary for each clinic. So, before making an appointment, you might want to ask about the consultation fees!

There are different types of Invisalign treatment plans available — Express, Lite, Moderate and Comprehensive. The type of plan that’s allocated to each patient will depend on the complexity of their malocclusion.

If you have a complex teeth misalignment, more aligner sets will be needed to achieve the desired outcome. This requires a more comprehensive and longer treatment, which means the cost of Invisalign treatment will be higher.

On the flipside, if you only require minor teeth movements, you may be suitable for the Express or Lite plan which is more affordable. Consult a dentist to understand which plan is more suitable for you!

Note: A suitable Invisalign plan will be recommended by your dentist based on the complexity of your teeth condition.

Invisalign provider tier

Infographic - Invisalign provider tier levels and what they mean

Clinics with a higher Invisalign provider tier indicates that they’ve attended to more cases before. This translates to having more experience, which may lead to more expensive treatment as Invisalign is a doctor-directed treatment.

What is a doctor-directed treatment?
Invisalign is a clear aligner system that requires a dentist to closely monitor and track your progress from start to finish. Ultimately, your treatment journey and outcome will be heavily determined by your dentist’s prescription. Thus, with more experience, the dentist will be able to provide a proper diagnosis and personalised treatment plan to achieve your desired outcome effectively.

Number of refinement adjustments required

It’s quite common for refinement adjustments to be done during the treatment if your teeth aren’t following the plan. In such cases, more aligner sets may be required and attachments may be replaced.

These may add on to the cost of the treatment, depending on what your Invisalign package includes. During the consultation stage, it’s a good idea to check with the clinic about this, so you can be prepared for any possible additional costs.

Pre-treatment and aftercare expenses

Other factors that will affect the cost of Invisalign treatment are

  • Pre-treatment procedures: if you need any dental procedures before Invisalign treatment can commence e.g. tooth extraction, scaling and polishing
  • Aftercare: cost of retainers

These will add on to the treatment cost if they aren’t included in the package.

Unfortunately, there are currently no subsidies and discounts for Invisalign treatment in Singapore.

  • MediSave

MediSave in Singapore is only claimable for dental treatments that involve surgery due to medical reasons.

As Invisalign is non-surgical and is considered as an aesthetic dental treatment, MediSave is not claimable.

  • CHAS, PG and MG Cards

Similarly, CHAS, Pioneer and Merdeka Generation dental subsidies are only applicable for essential treatments such as simple teeth extractions, filling and dentures.

Thus, aesthetic treatments such as Invisalign are not eligible.

  • Dental Insurance

Dental coverage for braces or orthodontic treatment is dependent on the insurance plan that you have.

However, most of the time, such coverage comes as an additional add-on since they are aesthetic procedures.

Aside from Invisalign, there are a number of other clear aligner brands which can be categorised into:

  • In-clinic
  • Direct-to-consumer (DTC)

In-clinic aligner brands are conducted and supervised by dentists in person to provide a personal, face-to-face experience. DTC brands, on the other hand, work with dentists to administer and monitor patient’s progress remotely via teledentistry.

That’s why DTC brands tend to be more affordable. However, they’re more suitable for mild to moderate cases.

Thus, if you have a tighter budget and less complex malocclusion, you can consider DTC aligner brands!

Braces options

Another more affordable alternative is braces. There are 4 types of braces which you can choose based on your preferences and budget.
