Achieve your ideal smile while living the life you love

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a globally recognised clear aligner system that has been proven effective for most types of conditions and complexities. The aligners are virtually invisible, soft, comfortable and removable, so you don’t suffer from nicks, cuts and ulcers. You can also continue enjoying your favourite food, sports and musical instruments.

Because Invisalign uses an advanced 3D computerised imaging software to accurately simulate your teeth movement from start to end, you have a clear picture of how your teeth will look after the treatment. Dentist visits are also less frequent compared with braces, averaging once every 8 to 12 weeks.

There is also a quicker and more affordable alternative (Invisalign Anterior) for patients who only need corrections to their front six teeth.

Straightening out 6 dental problems

It is a common misunderstanding that Invisalign is only suitable for patients with minor dental issues. However, Invisalign corrects a wide variety of teeth straightening problems. It is a single solution that addresses 6 dental issues – Spacing, Crossbite, Open Bite, Crowding, Excessive Overjet and Deep Bite. To know more about how much Invisalign costs in Singapore and how it can help you, book an appointment with our clinic for a consultation.

  • Spacing

Spacing is when you have extra space between two or more of your teeth. It may appear unattractive and cause speech problems.

  • Excessive Overjet

An excessive overjet is when your upper front teeth extend too far over your lower front teeth.

  • Underbite (Reverse Overjet)

An underbite is a condition when your lower teeth and jaw protrude in front of the upper teeth. Severe cases may cause difficulty biting or chewing food or challenges when speaking.

  • Crowding

Crowding is when you don’t have enough room in your jaw for your teeth to fit normally. Your teeth can bunch up, overlap and twist, sometimes getting pushed to the front of the back.

  • Crossbite

A crossbite is when you close your mouth and some of your upper teeth are sitting inside of your lower teeth – rather than on the outside like they normally would. This may lead to abnormal tooth wear and chipping.

  • Open Bite

An open bite is when your upper and lower teeth don’t touch when your mouth is closed. An open bite may affect your appearance and may cause speech problems like having a lisp.

We strive to uphold this standard by continuously challenging ourselves to keep abreast of evolving treatment techniques and technology.

  • Digital Dentistry

At i.Dental, we strongly believe in using digital or computer-aided dentistry to improve the dental experience for all our patients.

The iTero machine has replaced traditional dental mould and is now used to create a 3D image of your teeth and it allows you to see a simulation of your new smile within minutes.

We have also introduced Dental Monitoring for our Invisalign patients. It allows our dentists to track your progress and reach out to you more promptly if they find that your aligners are not fitting well.

How is Invisalign different from traditional braces?

  • Virtually Invisible

Being virtually invisible, you’ll be able to smile naturally and comfortably all the time as your treatment goes secretly underway!

  • Removable & Convenient

With invisalign, you don’t need to worry about any dietary restrictions nor interferences with sports or other activities. You can continue living your life fuss-free! Furthermore, you can also save time visiting our clinic as your teeth only needs to be checked by our dentist every 6-8 weeks!

  • Comfortable

Since Invisalign is made of smooth polymer that fits comfortably over your teeth, you will not experience any irritation to your gums or surrounding tissues! Neither will there be any wires poking your gums.

  • Better Oral Hygiene

Invisalign is the most ideal in promoting oral hygiene among other types of braces. This allows you to carry out your healthy dental brushing habits as per normal!

What is the Invisalign treatment process like?

  • Initial Consultation

An oral examination, 4 x-rays scans, 3D images of the teeth using the iTero Element Scanner and photos of your dental and facial profile will be taken as part of your diagnostics records.

  • 2nd Consultation

Our dentists will go through your diagnostic records in detail, for you to understand your teeth condition. We will provide you the available options, the prices and duration of these treatments as well as a simulation of your final teeth position.

  • Proceed with Invisalign Treatment

Once you are ready to embark on the Invisalign journey, our dentists will customize an Invisalign Clincheck* plan for you. With the ClinCheck®, you will be able to see the expected movement of your teeth at each stage from start of your treatment to the end even before you start your treatment.

  • Start Invisalign Treatment

Our dentist will issue you your first set of aligners and guide you on how to wear your aligners properly.

  • Progress Checks with Dental Monitoring

Dental Monitoring** uses AI technology and your smartphone to help our dentists monitor your treatment. So follow-up appointments can be scheduled once every 8-12 weeks or even longer (reducing the number of trips you need to make to the dental clinic).

  • Completion

Maintain your new smile by wearing retainers to bed every night.

We provide a range of retainers for you to choose from – Hawley Retainers, Clear Retainers, Permanent Retainers, Vivera Retainers. If you have just completed your Invisalign, we will recommend you to go with Vivera Retainers as it is manufactured by Invisalign and is less likely to break or crack than other clear retainers.

Contact us to find out more about the options you have.

* 3D simulation video of the ‘before’ and ‘after’ of your teeth-straightening process, including an estimation of the number of aligners you would need

** You also have an option to sign up for our Dental Monitoring service. For a small additional fee, you gain access to a mobile app through which your dentist can remotely monitor your progress. Great for frequent business travellers and to bridge overseas postings.

A detailed invisalign process at i.Dental

Getting Prepped

You will kick-start your Invisalign journey by having a personal consultation with our dentist so that our dentist can understand your needs and concerns for your teeth straightening treatment.

Our dentist will then examine your facial features and facial profile, followed by your teeth and gums condition. X-rays and itero scans will also be performed to determine if you are a suitable candidate.

As not all cases require teeth extractions, our dentist will create a customised treatment plan best suited for your condition based on these diagnostic records. Once confirmed, a detailed virtual 3D treatment plan will be created using the highly advanced ClinCheck® software that allows you to see the straightening process of your teeth and the end result even before you begin your invisible braces treatment.

The Journey to Success

6-8 weeks after your records have been submitted to the Invisalign headquarters in the United States, your custom-made Invisalign aligners will be ready and issued to you. Aligners have to be changed every 7-10 days and you are expected to wear them for at least 20-22 hours every day.

Our dentists and staff will educate you on overcoming any challenges you may have with your aligners by providing you with tips and advice. We will monitor your progress every 8 weeks to ensure your teeth are moving according to plan. If you are on Dental monitoring program, you may upload your photos to the phone app and we will be able to see track progress remotely, reducing visits to the clinic.

The New You

The duration of your treatment depends on the complexity of your teeth conditions which will be advised by your dentist.

At the end of the treatment, you will go through deband – where attachments are removed and your teeth will be cleaned prior to a final scan of your teeth to manufacture the post treatment retainers.

The retainers are to be worn on a regular basis so as to keep your teeth in position. With this transformation, you can now present yourself confidently, creating a pleasing and lasting first impression!

Apart from the aligners required for treatment, our Invisalign packages are also inclusive of

  • Invisalign attachments

Attachments are small tooth-coloured shapes that are attached to the teeth using dental composites. They are placed in precise locations, acting as a grip for the aligners as they guide the teeth to their new positions.

During treatment, the clear aligners fit tightly around the attachments, making them hardly visible.

  • Progress reviews

You will be required to go for a review once every 8 – 12 weeks for our dentists to check on your progress.

  • 1 free refinement included

Refinements are used to fix any small imperfections after your Invisalign treatment is complete.

No! Invisalign treatment can be a great solution for both adults and teens looking for a virtually invisible method to improve your smile. The innovations and technological advancements from Invisalign make it possible to fix nearly all common teeth-straightening and bite issues, from simple to complex — all without interrupting your busy life. And, thanks to a discreet blue dot on the outside of teen aligners, parents can be sure their child is wearing their clear aligners enough.

It depends on how crowded your teeth are. Book a consultation with our dentists so that they can provide you with the advice.

This depends on the condition of your teeth and the treatment plan your dentist has in mind. For example, wisdom tooth removal is recommended if you have an impacted wisdom tooth that is hindering tooth movement.

On the other hand, removal may not be required if your teeth have erupted well and are properly positioned. The wisdom teeth may be kept as an anchor to help align other teeth during the treatment process.

Treatment duration can vary significantly depending on your condition and desired results. A typical treatment can take about 1.5 to 2 years but there are orthodontic devices available from our clinic that you can use to speed up your treatment. Devices like Acceledent and VPRO5 are able to cut treatment time by as much as 50%.

Our dentists will create a unique, digital treatment plan that maps out the exact movements of your teeth using ClinCheck program. Your Invisalign clear aligners are then designed to apply the right amount of force to the right place at the right time based on your plan. Our doctor will be with you every step of the way to monitor your progress and ensure your aligners fit correctly.

A physical review will be scheduled once every 8 – 12 weeks depending on your condition.

Alternatively, you can also opt for weekly dental monitoring to track your progress. All you need to do is to upload photos of your teeth onto the mobile app and our dentists will be able to monitor your treatment in real-time.

It will depend on your dentist’s instruction. Usually for the first few sets of aligners, you will change it every 10 days.

It is recommended for you to wear it at least 22 hours per day.

Brush your aligners with your toothpaste and toothbrush and rinse them in lukewarm water. Do not use hot water on your aligners as it could potentially cause the plastic to warp.

Our doctors will recommend the different types of retainers which you can wear. This is to prevent your teeth from gradually shifting back to their initial position.
