What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a globally recognised clear aligner system that has proven to be effective for correcting most types of teeth conditions and complexities. Otherwise known as invisible braces, these aligners are virtually invisible, soft, comfortable and removable, which means you can continue eating your favourite food, and playing sports as well as musical instruments.

At i.Dental, we offer Invisalign treatments starting at $4,360, with a comprehensive pricing range up to $9,265, tailored to meet the specific condition of your teeth.

A Detailed Invisalign Treatment Process at i.Dental

Initial consultation

Start your Invisalign journey with a consultation where our dentists assess your needs and concerns.

We will perform an oral exam, X-ray scans, and 3D teeth imaging using the iTero Element Scanner. In addition, your dental and facial profiles will be captured for diagnostic purposes.

  • 2nd consultation

Our dentists will review your diagnostic records with you, explaining your dental condition and the treatment options, costs, and duration. Additionally, they will provide a simulation to show you what your smile could look like post-Invisalign.

  • Customised Invisalign treatment plan

Receive your personalised ClinCheck®* plan from our dentists, showcasing a detailed preview of your teeth’s progression at every stage of the Invisalign treatment.

  • Invisalign treatment begins

Receive your custom Invisalign aligners in 4-6 weeks, with guidance from our dentist on proper usage.

We recommend changing your aligners every 10-14 days and wearing them for 20-22 hours daily.

  • Progress checks with Dental Monitoring

Upload photos of your teeth onto our AI-powered Dental Monitoring** app to allow our dentists to monitor your treatment weekly.

This reduces the frequency of physical appointments from every 6-8 weeks to 8-12 weeks or more.

  • Completion of Invisalign treatment

At the end of your treatment, your attachments will be removed and your teeth will be cleaned prior to a final iTero scan to manufacture the post-treatment retainers.

  • Maintaining your smile

Maintain your new smile by wearing retainers to bed every night. Based on your needs and lifestyle, our dentists will recommend the most suitable type of retainer for you, such as clear, Hawley, or Vivera retainers.

We suggest Vivera retainers by Invisalign, renowned for being 30% stronger and twice as durable as other leading clear retainer materials.

*3D simulation video of the ‘before’ and ‘after’ of your teeth-straightening process, including an estimation of the number of aligners you will need.
**This is an optional service. For a small additional fee, you gain access to a mobile app through which your dentist can remotely monitor your progress. This improves the convenience of your treatment.

Why Invisalign at i.Dental™?

Invisalign Dedicated Clinic

In 2014, i.Dental was appointed as an Invisalign Dedicated Clinic in Singapore by Align Technology. This designation reflects our focus on providing Invisalign solutions, driven by our experience in the field. We consistently integrate the latest treatment techniques and technologies to stay aligned with industry advancements.

  • Black Diamond Provider

We have achieved the Black Diamond Invisalign provider tier for 8 years (2015 – 2017 and 2019 – 2023), having completed more than 450 cases annually. We are also proud to be a Blue Diamond Invisalign Provider in Singapore in 2018, with 750 Invisalign cases completed.

To date, we have completed over 5,383 Invisalign cases!

  • Digital Dentistry

At i.Dental, we utilise digital dentistry to enhance patient experiences. This approach involves using the iTero scanner for 3D teeth modelling, replacing traditional moulds. Our digital X-ray systems emit lower radiation and provide instant results.

For Invisalign patients, we also employ Dental Monitoring to track treatment progress and ensure aligner fit, enabling timely adjustments if needed.

Teeth Conditions That Invisalign Can Fix

Invisalign can correct a wide range of teeth alignment problems (known as malocclusions) including overcrowding, overjet, underbite, crossbite, open bite, and spacing.

  • Overcrowding

Overcrowding is when there is insufficient room in your jaw for your teeth to fit normally.

Your teeth can bunch up, overlap, twist, or get pushed to the front or back.

  • Overjet

An excessive overjet, also known as buck teeth, is when your upper front teeth extend too far horizontally over your lower front teeth.

This is not to be confused with an overbite, which is a vertical overlap of the lower teeth by the upper.

  • Underbite

An underbite is when your lower teeth and jaw protrude in front of the upper teeth.

Severe cases may cause difficulty chewing food or challenges when speaking.

  • Crossbite

A crossbite is when some of your upper teeth sit behind your lower teeth.

This may lead to abnormal tooth wear and chipping.

  • Open Bite

An open bite is when your upper and lower teeth do not touch when your mouth is closed.

This may affect your appearance and cause speech problems like having a lisp.

  • Spacing

Spacing is when there is a gap between two or more of your teeth.

It may cause speech problems and food can get stuck easily.

How Is Invisalign Different from Other Aligner Brands?

  • ClinCheck® software

Invisalign makes use of a proprietary software, ClinCheck®, that is supported by the data from 11 million patients*.

The software’s algorithm allows your dentist to design a customised treatment plan for you. Additionally, it provides a detailed 3D simulation of your teeth, showing how they will look after treatment, even before you start.

  • Doctor-directed treatment

From consultation to completion, the Invisalign process is closely supervised by a licensed dentist. These dentists possess the orthodontic knowledge to recommend suitable treatment options for specific cases and tooth movements.

They will ensure you are well-informed about your treatment options, instruct you on proper aligner use, and address any concerns you have along the way.

  • SmartTrack®

Your Invisalign aligners are crafted from SmartTrack®, a medical-grade polymer. Align Technology developed this material over 8 years, testing 260 different materials to ensure optimal quality.

With this material, your aligners will fit snugly and move your teeth with gentle, consistent pressure, maximising comfort throughout your treatment.

  • SmartForce®

With SmartForce® attachments, tooth movements such as rotation, extrusions, and translations are now feasible! These barely noticeable, tiny tooth-coloured shapes are attached to your teeth and work alongside your aligners, guiding your teeth precisely to their desired positions.

FAQs About Invisalign Treatment in Singapore

Invisalign is a type of orthodontic braces that is clear and removable. On the other hand, braces are fixed onto your teeth and are easily visible. Other differences include:

  • Comfort: Invisalign treatment is more comfortable than braces as it ensures a gradual and gentle movement of teeth
  • Oral hygiene: Invisalign allows for better oral hygiene compared to braces
  • Dietary restrictions: You can enjoy minimal dietary restrictions with Invisalign
  • Follow-up visits: Invisalign treatment requires fewer and shorter visits to the dentist
  • Treatment for complex conditions: Invisalign has limitations in treating certain conditions while braces are able to treat more complex conditions
  • Compliance with treatment: It is harder to ensure patients’ compliance with Invisalign treatment
  • Cost of treatment: Invisalign is generally more costly than braces

Treatment duration can vary significantly depending on your condition and desired results.

A typical treatment can take about 1.5 to 2 years but there are orthodontic devices available from our clinic that you can use to speed up your treatment. Devices like Acceledent and VPRO5 are able to cut treatment time by as much as 50%.

It is recommended for you to wear it at least 22 hours per day.

ClinCheck® is used by our dentists to develop a customised digital treatment plan, detailing your teeth’s precise movements. Your Invisalign aligners are designed to exert the correct force at the right locations and times, with our dentist overseeing your progress and fit throughout the treatment.

It will depend on your dentist’s instructions. Usually for the first few sets of aligners, you will change it every 10 days.

Our dentists will recommend the different types of retainers which you can wear. You will also be advised on the daily duration of wearing your retainers. This is to prevent your teeth from gradually shifting back to their initial position.

FAQs About the Cost of Invisalign in Singapore

The price ranges from $3,499 – $9,265 depending on the complexity of your teeth condition.

At i.Dental, we offer both in-house and credit card financing as well as plans for students and National Servicemen.

Apart from the aligners required for treatment, our Invisalign packages are also inclusive of:

  • Invisalign attachments

Attachments are small tooth-coloured shapes that are attached to the teeth using dental composites. They are placed in precise locations, acting as a grip for the aligners as they guide the teeth to their new positions.

During treatment, the clear aligners fit tightly around the attachments to move your teeth more effectively.

  • Progress reviews

You will be required to go for a review once every 8 – 12 weeks for our dentists to check on your progress.

  • 1 refinement

Refinements are used to fix any small imperfections after your Invisalign treatment is complete.

No, MediSave cannot be used for Invisalign treatment as it is a cosmetic procedure. You may only make claims for treatments that require surgery such as wisdom tooth surgery or dental implants.
