Invisalign First is an orthodontic clear aligner treatment designed to help children improve their smiles as they grow.
Typically, children age between 6 – 10 year old is a good time for them to start their orthodontic treatment while they are still growing. This allows the dentist to straighten a child’s teeth and treat various dental issues before they developed into more serious conditions.
With Invisalign First, it allows the child to continue with his/her daily life with minimum disruptions while going through a comfortable orthodontic treatment.
Some parents might think that early orthodontic treatment is extreme or unnecessary. However, starting treatment early is in a child’s best interests especially if the problem is one that could become more serious over time if left untreated.
As your child is growing, early intervention allows the dentist to intercept and help mitigate any potential developing problems related to your child’s teeth and jaw.
Early orthodontic treatment helps with mitigating the severity of skeletal malocclusion (misalignment of the teeth and bite). This helps your child to potentially avoid the need for surgery when your child grows older.
Correcting your child’s smile helps him to avoid being teased for his/her crooked teeth, boosting their self-confidence.
Brushing and flossing can be difficult with crooked teeth. Thus, straightening your child’s teeth makes cleaning much easier.
This helps prevent plaque and bacteria buildup which may lead to tooth decay and gum disease.
Bite problems such as crossbite and underbite are easier and quicker to fix when your child is still young.
This is because his bones are still developing, allowing them to be moved more easily.

Invisalign aligners are made with SmartTrack material which is developed based on 8 years of research & development, with 260 different materials tested. SmartTrack material makes wearing of Invisalign aligners more comfortable.
The aligners are made of clear plastic, making them virtually invisible.
Because of this, you do not have to worry about your child feeling self-conscious about his/her appearance, especially when they are in school.
This makes it easier for your child to brush and floss his teeth and maintain better oral hygiene.
You only need to bring your child back for review every 8-12 weeks as opposed to putting your child on braces which requires a visit to the dentist every 4 weeks.
Your child can continue to eat and drink whatever he/she wants since the aligners are removable.
Your child might be suitable for Invisalign First if he/she has early mixed dentition and typically falls between 6 – 10 years old.

This means that we have access to Invisalign technology updates, allowing us to effectively help your child with his smile.
i.Dental started treating malocclusion using Invisalign since 2011 and we have completed over 4,600 Invisalign cases to date. Our team of dentists are committed to providing a positive experience for all our patients and help them achieve their ideal smile.
On your first visit, our dentists will examine your child’s teeth to determine whether he/she is suitable for Invisalign First. Records (x-rays, iTero scans and intraoral photos) will be taken during this visit to allow our dentist to prepare a treatment plan for your child.
During the second consultation, using an iTero Element Intraoral Scanner, a simulation can be created to show your child how the teeth will look after they complete the Invisalign treatment. Our dentist will then share more about the treatment plan for your child.
The aligners for treatment will be manufactured upon your approval of the treatment plan.
The first down payment ($864 including GST) will be paid before we proceed to order for your aligners to be manufactured.
We will arrange you to come in to collect the aligners in 4-6 weeks time. During this visit, our dentist will teach your child how to wear the aligners and how to take care of it.
The second down payment ($1,620 including GST) will be made during this visit.
You will be required to bring your child for follow-up appointments every 8 – 12 weeks.
Apart from the visits to the clinic, you can also opt for Dental Monitoring for your child. Dental Monitoring is an AI-powered technology which allows our dentist to track the progress of your child’s treatment remotely.
At the end of the treatment, our dentist will take another iTero scan of the teeth of your child to manufacture retainers.
It is important for your child to wear the retainers because as his/her body grows, the teeth shifts naturally. Hence, wearing retainer helps to control this shifting and maintain the teeth positions.
Price:
Invisalign First treatment price ranges from $4,000 – $5,500, depending on the teeth conditions of your child’s.
The 1st down payment of $864 will be made upon your approval of his 3D stimulation. A 2nd down payment of $1,620 will be made when you collect the Invisalign aligners for your child.
The balance can be paid via a monthly instalment of $300 – $400.
The aligners used in the Invisalign First treatment are made from BPA-free plastic, making them completely safe for your child.
Treatment time will vary among patients depending on the complexity of your child’s case. It will take between 6 – 18 months on average.
The aligners need to be worn between 20 – 22 hours each day. They must be worn even when your child is asleep and should only be removed when he is eating or brushing his teeth.
Your child may be required to change his aligners every 7 – 14 days depending on the condition of his teeth.
Please contact us immediately if the aligners break or go missing.
In some situations, depending on the condition of your child’s teeth, a replacement may not be required. If your child is ready, all he needs to do is to move on to the next set of aligners.
Your child needs to wear retainers after completing Phase 1 of the treatment while waiting for his permanent teeth to grow.
Retainers should be replaced when they have become discoloured, start to fall apart or no longer fit your child’s teeth.
